Madhya Pradesh: In Rewa, a youth who was absconding in theft cases jumped into the Bihar river after seeing a police constable. He was taken out and taken to the hospital where he died. The angry family members of the deceased created a ruckus in the hospital accusing the police of chasing them. The police pacified them by assuring action after investigation.
Rohit Kewat (20) of Ghoghar in the city had gone to the Bihar river to fish with his brother on Monday. He went to park his bike on the bank, where he saw a constable of City Kotwali police station standing there and started running and to save himself, he jumped into the Bihar river at Ghoghar Ghat.
Seeing this, the constable along with the local people present on the spot took the youth out of the river. The constable took the youth on his scooter to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where he was declared dead. On receiving the information of the incident, the youth who reached the hospital got furious and started creating a ruckus. The family started accusing the police. Seeing the tense situation, a heavy police force arrived. The family members alleged that the constable chased the youth after which he jumped into the river. After the uproar that continued throughout the day, the police assured the family of action after investigation, after which the post-mortem of the body was done. The body is kept in the mortuary which will be handed over by the family for the last rites on Tuesday morning.
A youth died due to drowning in water. The constable had gone to inform the marriage garden operator about the meeting, seeing which the youth jumped into the river. The constable took him out and brought him to the hospital where he died. The CCTV footage of the marriage house has been taken for investigation.
