Rewa: A large quantity of rice sent to Chhatarpur by the Rewa unit of Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation has been found to be substandard. Now there is a demand to replace the bad rice. The District Manager of Chhatarpur has again sent a letter and said that the substandard rice should be replaced.
- Such audacity: Even after sending reminders 15 times, NON did not send another rice
The quality of rice was checked in the month of February. In this, a large quantity of rice sent from Rewa was found to be bad. 2100 bags of rice stored in Rajnagar and 2004 bags of rice in Lavkush Nagar were asked to be replaced due to poor quality. When the substandard rice was not replaced even after several months, the officials of the Bhopal headquarters of the corporation reprimanded the officials of Chhatarpur and said that the said substandard rice should be replaced with good quality rice.
After this, the District Manager of Chhatarpur wrote a letter to the District Manager of Rewa and said that the substandard rice should be replaced as per the demand raised earlier. Before this, 15 letters have been issued from February till now, even after this, no reply was given by the Rewa office and neither any effort was made to replace the concerned rice. Now again a letter has been sent and referring to all the letters sent from February till now, it has been said that it should be taken seriously.
Amount being spent unnecessarily in storage
The rice which was to be replaced in the month of February itself has not been replaced till now. Due to this, extra money is being spent in the storage of substandard rice. The District Manager of Chhatarpur has mentioned this in his letter. It has been said that Chhatarpur is a dependent district, where rice comes from other districts. These are used in the public distribution system. Due to the storage of substandard rice for many months, extra money has to be spent.
Objections have come from many places earlier also
Due to the large number of rice mills in Rewa, rice is being sent from here to other districts every year. Earlier, such objections have been coming from many districts that poor quality rice has been sent. The substandard rice of some places was replaced but at many places it was not replaced and it was distributed in the respective districts. The collusion of millers was also revealed in this.
Millers instructed to give rice again
The millers from whose place the rice sent to Chhatarpur was found to be substandard have now been instructed to provide the same quantity of good quality rice to the transporter as was sent earlier. It has also been warned that if the rice is not replaced on time, action will be taken against the concerned.
- A letter has come from Chhatarpur, as soon as the matter came to notice, we have issued instructions to the concerned millers and transporters. Substandard rice will be replaced soon. We do not know what was the previous situation. Ashok Singh Rajput, District Manager Non
