Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh’s new police chief i.e. Director General of Police Kailash Makwana formally took charge on Monday. In a discussion with the media, he said that traffic safety is a priority. He said that more deaths are happening in road accidents than murders, so many things will be done to stop it.
- Public hearing will start again in police stations
Priority will be given to connecting with the general public in police stations and solving their problems. Along with this, he said that emphasis will be laid on keeping the police in discipline.
Distance from PHQ: Makwana said many times in the press conference that I have been away from PHQ for the last three years, so it will take some time to understand things. Today a meeting of officers was called. Tomorrow also I will hold a meeting and understand each work. I will work towards improving it.
Strictness on corruption: DGP gave indications about strictness on corruption. Said that everyone has to stay away from wrong work.
First Maha Kumbh after construction of corridor
DGP Makwana said that Simhastha Maha Kumbh is a priority for the police. He said that the government has started preparations for the Ujjain Simhastha to be held in 2028. This religious event will attract crores of devotees. This will be the first Simhastha after the construction of Mahakal Corridor, hence the crowd will also be more than before. Making the devotees from the country and abroad safe, well-organized and environmentally friendly is our top priority.
